While unofficial, these practices will act as preliminary try-outs for the fall.  Players will not yet be fully assigned, however coaches will be using these camps to help analyze player skills and approximate levels for the upcoming season.  We should be starting on the ice, depending upon age groups, at the end of August/Beginning of September for the season with Euclid's rink opening at the end of September (as of right now).  In addition, the camp will be open to all players interested.  The fee structure we are looking at  for the program will be  $15.00 per session or $50.00 for all 4 sessions with a credit for the amount being paid applied towards fees for the 2011-12 season for those players who register with EYHA for the season.  In addition, all players will need to be registered with USA Hockey for the 2011-12 season in order to take the ice for these skills.  We are finalizing plans to be able to handle the computer registration at Gilmour to help streamline and make the registration process easier.

Also, as many of you may know.  On June 8th USA Hockey will vote on a proposal to move the legal body checking age from the Peewee age division up to the Bantam division beginning this year.  As part of that rule is the recommendation that Body contact training begin as early as the Mite division.  Please visit http://www.usahockey.com//Template_Usahockey.aspx?NAV=ET_03&ID=299508 for additional details and training manuals which may be helpful in both understanding the new rules but also to begin working on age appropriate drills to introduce body contact at all levels.  EYHA is also planning a coach's seminar for this season to help on the training and implementation of these new rules.
